MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON Monday 11th November at Lofthouse Village Hall 7.30pm

  1. PRESENT Cllr S. Ramsden Cllr D. Fothergill, Cllr R Harker, Cllr J Graham, Cllr D Verity, Cllr. A Challis, Cllr A Sykes, Cllr J Carter, County Cllr A Murday and Clerk Mr Alan Bean

  4. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

  5. LOFTHOUSE SCHOOL A visit is taking place to Wakefield to find out more information on the ownership of the school

  6. MATTERS ARISING Councillors acknowledge recently there have been issues with Noticeboard, which is being rectified. It was agreed to pay £456 towards the recent drainage work.

  7. COUNCILLORS REPORTS County Cllr Murday reported about the upcoming boundary changes, and how that might affect the area. These changes could involve the county councillor looking after Upper Nidderdale, looking after Wharfedale as well, which the parish council felt wasn’t practical and not reasonable to expect a councillor to deal with Locals can comment on this to reviews@lgbce.org.uk. It was reported the notice board at Middlesmoor is in need of repair. Cllr S Ramsden is going to look into this

  8. FIRE STATION New volunteers are need to keep the station open. It was also noted that Karl Thornton has received and award North Yorkshire Police , Fire and Rescue Service for Volunteer of the Year. The council wants to congratulate him on winning this prestigious award.

  9. STREET LIGHTS Stean cottages needs a new light to replace the one recently removed. Middlesmoor no3 light is out

  10. VILLAGE ISSUES nothing new to report

  11. PARKING NEAR RESERVOIR None

  12. HIGHWAYS Trapping hill corner needs trimming back. 6Ft meter markers for flooding are needed. County Cllr Murday aware.

  13. PLAYGROUNDS nothing to report

  14. PARISH CARETAKER nothing to report

  15. PLANNING APPLICATIONS ZC24/03477/TPO Tree branch cutting. The council supports this application, and believe the trees are becoming dangerous.

  16. COMMUTED SUMS Bench is awaiting invoice

  17. MILLENIUM MARQUEE New lock has been fitted with a number of keys to secure the marquee
