Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting MAY 2023 was approved JUNE 2023

PARISH CHAIR REPORT

Chair Cllr S Ramsden reported the following. It is very sad we have now lost Lofthouse Primary School. One of the lights at the Crown at Lofthouse is now working, allowing better viability around the building. There was a little pick and the chair wishes to thank all those who helped. The mobile mast situation for the area is currently on going. The chair also wishes to think County Councillor A Murday for his efforts in trying to save the school

COUNTY AND DISTRICT COUNCILLOR REPORT County Cllr Murday reported that a new Major has been voted in, the first for the area, a David Skaith. The planning committee at Harrogate Borough Council has been replaced by planning committee at Skipton and Ripon. Councillors do have the opportunity to call in applications for consideration although most applications are now dealt with directly by planning officers The long course weekend has been moved to Masham. The Nidderdale Greenway extension has been put in the hands of the officers of the North Yorkshire Council.

MILLENIUM MARQUEE REPORT Cllr D Fothergill reported that the Marquee hasn’t had any events this year

  5. LOFTHOUSE SCHOOL Lofthouse School has now officially closed and Cllr A Murday is now looking into why so many rural schools are being closed in such a similar way.

  6. MATTERS ARISING Nothing to report

  7. COUNCILLORS REPORTS Items were covered in the Annual meeting.

  8. FIRE STATION Nothing has been done with the roof at ths moment in time.

  9. STREET LIGHTS The old canteen light is now working, however the old street light still needs removing. Cllr S Ramsden is going to look at what can be done with the light at Stean.

  10. VILLAGE ISSUES Nothing to report

  11. PARKING NEAR RESERVOIR None

  12. HIGHWAYS Drainage onto roads is an ongoing issue which maybe between Yorkshire Water, Highways and Landowners. Drainage onto footpaths is also an ongoing issue While it is dry, councillors will look into this. Some potholes have been filled and some gulleys in some areas have been cleared

  13. PLAYGROUNDS Wooden fence near railway is rotten

  15. PLANNING APPLICATIONS ZC24/01339/FUL Erection of single storey extension the council had no objections. ZC24/01328/FUL Extension and remodelling to existing the council had no objections
