MINUTES OF 2019-20 MEETING

Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting JUNE 2021 was approved JULY 2021

PARISH CHAIRMAN, REPORT The Chair, Councillor R Watson, gave his summing up on the year and how the council has worked in the community. He stated County Councillor S Lumley has helped the council access departments within Harrogate and North Yorkshire for the Parish, over the past year. Highways has been disappointing for the parish, with the continuing issue with the reservoir road and gulley and gtters cleaning. Rights of way signage has been looked at by the council, involving the start of replacement of signage in the area. Rights of way near the post office in Lofthouse has been adopted. Street lighting has been sorted throughout the parish. The firestation refurbishment is still pending. Garages have been removed from the firestation. Phone boxes have been redecorated directly through the councils involvement. There have been no contentious planning applications during the year. Commuted sums through the work of members of the council, have given money towards benches in the area. The council is moving forward with plans for the Jubilee celebrations.

COUNTY AND DISTRICT COUNCILLOR REPORT County and District Councillor S Lumley was voted out of his role before this meeting, as part of district shake up. Meaning no report was given this year.

MILLENIUM MARQUEE REPORT Councillor D Fothergill gave his report on the year. He stated that the marquee hasn’t been booked out during the past year, and that the only booking is for 18th May. Currently no other interest has been shown.

MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON Monday 9TH MAY 2022 at Middlesmoor Village Hall at 7.30pm

  6. COUNCILLORS REPORTS Chair gave a report as part of the annual parish meeting. There is a new Councillor for the area, as part of the new council areas that have replaced North Yorkshire County Council and Harrogate District Council. He is Called Cllr Murday. County Cllr S Lumley lost his position of a long service to this parish and North Yorkshire, and as such he is no longer a county or district council, his help will be missed as we look forward to building a relationship with the new councillor.

  7. FIRE STATION Nothing to report

  8. CCTV Someone removing scrap was seen, but it is currently unsure if this was theft or was previously arranged.

  9. STREET LIGHTS All working in the parish, except the light at Stean which is pending

  10. VILLAGE ISSUES Housing estate at top of Middlesmoor isn’t completed. Litter pick from Lofthouse to Bridge Inn was successfully completed since last meeting

  11. PARKING NEAR RESERVOIR Nothing to report, although rumours exist of sale, the council cannot confirm this.

  12. HIGHWAYS Potholes are starting to appear across the parish. This was especially noted at Ramsgill Bridge

  13. PLAYGROUNDS REPORT Nothing to report

  14. PARISH CARETAKER The caretaker is going to be asked to look at concrete bases for benches.

  15. PLANNING APPLICATIONS None

  16. COMMUTED SUMS Benches are to be ordered

  17. MILLENIUM MARQUEE A booking is taking place for the 18th May

  18. PINFOLD nothing to report

  19. WEBSITE Nothing to report

  20. JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS As we get closer, a meeting is due to take place on Friday of this week.
