MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON Monday 11th April 2022 at Ramsgill Village Hall at 7.30pm

There was no meeting in Held in March

Full social distancing was maintained during the meeting

  1. PRESENT Chair Cllr R. Watson, Cllr. S Ramsden, County Cllr S Lumley, Cllr A. Challis, Cllr M Wells, Cllr A Sykes and Clerk Mr Alan Bean

  6. COUNCILLORS REPORTS County Cllr S Lumley reported on the upcoming election and how district councils and North Yorkshire County Council are to disappear for one body, with less councillors. (York is to be independent of this) The plan is also to have a mayor after this change is in place, Over 6000 miles of roads, and 2000 bridges are currently under North Yorkshire, so this council will be covering a vast area. Parish councils may find more powers, as time progresses. This is down the line.

  9. STREET LIGHTS all ok

  10. VILLAGE ISSUES On the 20th Feb, there was a flood in Ramsgill due to drains blocked. Church wall in Ramsgill has collapsed. Church is aware. Questions have been asked about Stean and a no through road sign

  11. PARKING NEAR RESERVOIR Nothing to report

  12. HIGHWAYS Ongoing issue on the reservoir road at Ramsgill. No new news.

  13. PLAYGROUNDS REPORT

  14. PARISH CARETAKER A list of signs needs repair. Cllr A Challis is to ask for the work to be done

  15. PLANNING APPLICATIONS

22/01155/FUL at Ivy House Farm The council has no objection

22/00820/FUL at Sheperd Lodge The council has no objection

  1. COMMUTED SUMS Funds now available for the benches

  2. MILLENIUM MARQUEE Nothing happening with Marquee or any bookings

  3. PINFOLD nothing to report

  4. WEBSITE Nothing to report

  5. JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS The aim is for a Celebration to be at the cricket ground on the Saturday, and council is looking at planting Oak trees, 1 for each hamlet, to celebrate the jubilee. There is the possibility to have plaques at each tree, but that may be better to arrange after the celebrations

  6. ACCOUNTS as listed below. It was agreed to change banks. This to be done by the councillors over the next month
