MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON MONDAY 9th 2016 at 7.30 pm

MINUTES OF LAST MEETING Minutes for Parish Council Meeting held on Monday 12 December 2016, were proposed by Cllr J Carter. seconded by Cllr D Fothergill and signed by Chairman Cllr Ramsden and agreed by all Councillors present as a true and accurate copy

MATTERS ARISING
– Telephone Boxes – Reports have been sent to BT from Harrogate Borough Council, no response from BT as yet
– Commuted Sums – No new figures received, department dealing with this is currently stretched at HBC, so time scale for report to be received may be a while
– Bank Mandate – Forms now completed, and being returned to HSBC

COUNCILLORS REPORTS
Cllr S Ramsden informed the council that lettering is starting to come away on the war memorial at Middlesmoor. The on going memorial funding that C Lamb was following up on, is still pending.
Cllr S Lumley informed the council that Katy Penn is retiring from Nidd Plus. It was agreed to Cllr D Fothergill is to post a card, plus a up-dale “photo” and has been sent too

HIGHWAYS
Cllr S Ramsden and Cllr A Challis itemised 29 issues in the area, and forwarded them to Area6 along with photos and maps which are now looking into it. The council also noted there was an area just out of Upper Nidderdales area, that suffers excessive water, just near Bridge Inn. The council are passing this information to Bewerley Parish Council, which covers this piece of road.It was also mentioned that flooding can occur at the river Nidd, opposite Longside Farm, due to gravel causing almost a dam.

PLAYGROUNDS REPORT
Cllr J Carter reported signs are now ready to be mounted, and the dirt and moss that has accumulated on the play area has been cleaned off.

PARISH CARETAKER
Cllr J Carter reported the caretaker was ready to attach the new signs, and cleaned the slime from the playground. He had already fitted the notice board with Cllr S Ramsden, .

Cheques to Caretaker for year to date £1603.20 and for items needed £73.44 A Bean £170.00 and for training for £60
Discussion occurred over transparency fund with YLCA about funds remaining, an email was recieved on 09/01/17 at 15.02 stating funds can be used for any further costs that maybe incurred running the website and transparency

TOUR DE YORKSHIRE – highways issues ave already discussed earlier, plus Yorkshire water have been contacted regarding rubbish and saplings alongside Gouthwaite Reservoir
