MINUTES OF 2017-8 MEETING
Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting 2018 was approved June 2018
PARISH CHAIRMAN, REPORT Cllr R Watson gave his report. In his report , which a copy of the report is on file with the Parish Clerk, he talked about the loss of Councillor P Nethercoat, how the council instigated repairs on 2 war memorials, of which The Yorke Arms significantly helped with Ramsgill war memorial. The issue or Ramsgill village car park was put to rest with the local community at a vote in the parish council meeting, where locals 100% voted not to have a carpark. The Village green at Ramsgill was found to be public land. CCTV has been looked at for the local area, to help curb the local thefts. The Firestation at Lofthouse is currently in danger of being closed. Street lighting in Lofthouse still has a number of issues. Also the rights of way in Lofthouse is still ongoing. Lofthouse school had rumours of closure, however nothing has currently occurred.
COUNTY AND DISTRICT COUNCILLOR REPORT County Councillor Stan Lumley gave his report for both county and district. Harrogate has been made to reduce spending power by 40% in past few years. This was the first full year in the new offices. During the year the Local Plan was discussed and is still ongoing. Local lottery was launched for local charities. The Tour De Yorshire too place, again very successfully. International race is due in September. NYCC spending power has also been reduced by 40%. The County Council has created companies, to offer council based expertise to other businesses and county councils, to generate extra income. 90% of the areas has full broadband, the aim is for 98% this year. Kexgill landslip caused major problems, which has now been repaired. A new road is planned for 2021. Ofsted has reported North Yorkshires child services is outstanding. The only one in the country.
MILLENIUM MARQUEE REPORT Cllr Fothergill gave his report. He stated the marquee has reached a point where its condition is not suitable for most events, however has still made profit in the past year with a number of bookings totalling £450 plus interest.

MATTERS ARISING None

COUNCILLORS REPORTS County Councillor S Lumley reported that Kexgill is currently closed for 1 week for resurfacing. Many Councillors commented on the incidents that occurred with workmen in the area. The workmen were subject to verbal abuse during road closure, and the council does not approve of such behaviour. There were a few issues during this work, with workmen not letting locals through. This was due to a resident almost running into a workman, making the workmen reluctant to let traffic through. There were no diversions, and workmen should have let people through. The notifications and communications were not up to standard.

FIRE STATION A number of volunteers are now going forward for medicals. If someone isn’t suitable medically, it could mean the station closure.

RIGHTS OF WAY Enough forms have now been collated, and to be sent.

CCTV The CCTV system setup is currently being tested

RAMSGILL GREEN PARKING The Chair has had a meeting with Mr Briggs, and this is ongiong.

HIGHWAYS The issue with the workmen was discussed earlier in the meeting. Highways are to be contacted to stop this issue from happening again

PLAYGROUNDS REPORT Nothing has happened since last meeting, caretaker not present to sort. Cllr D Fothergill is to talk to him.
