MATTERS ARISING Fire Service visited last meeting. Since last meeting nothing has been received from Fire Service, although promised. Chair is going to write to the fire service as a number of people are wanting to join the volunteer service.

VISITORS TO MEETING
Electric Contractor visited the meeting to explain about the future works in the Ramsill area. Although there would be official road closures, this would not stop locals going through. If a larger vehicle goes through, they would move items blocking the routes.
Head of Lofthouse school came to meeting, and confirmed uniforms are not changing. She stated that a letter was due to go out tomorrow on whats happening in early years, after a Governors meeting. The head didn’t explain much more apart from saying Heads dont close schools, Local Government do and when numbers going down, so does finance and pressure on smaller schools.

COUNCILLORS REPORTS Cllr S Lumley reported Kex Gill had a public meeting 2 weeks ago. It will be an eight week project to repair, with a 1 week closure of the road at end to resurface. Aim to be finished towards end of November. The replacement road is going ahead. 2 years observation for enviromental issues. Works is due to start at end of 2019.

HIGHWAYS Stean Gorge wasn’t resurfaced, although it was to be done so on 13 / 14th September

PLAYGROUNDS REPORT Reports received Lofthouse 5 bar gate needs replacing.

PARISH CARETAKER Replace gate at at Lofthouse, with help of Cllr S Ramsden.
