MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON Monday 9th July 2018 at Ramsgill Village Hall at 7.30pm

  1. PRESENT Cllr R Watson (Chairman), Cllr S Ramsden (Vice Chairman), Cllr A Sykes, Cllr P Nethercoat, Cllr J Graham, Cllr S Lumley,

  5. MATTERS ARISING Litter Bins. Cllr P Nethercoat is going to talk to HBC regarding positions etc

  6. COUNCILLORS REPORTS Cllr S Lumley reported the A59 reopened to single lane traffic at Kex Gill, however outside of road is still closed. Engineering for new road is still moving forward, but environmental issues continue. A 9 day cycle event is going ahead in the Harrogate area in September 2019. Contra to rumours, there is no plans for Lofthouse School to close. However resource sharing may be put in place, to save costs. Clerk will invite Head to next meeting. Cllr R.Watson suggested possibilities of public toilets in Ramsgill

  1. RIGHTS OF WAY Cllr R.Watson has informed that a letter has been sent to the new owner of the Post office asking for rights of way. This is the initial step towards getting a confirmed rights of way. If he doesn’t wish to sign, the next step will continue.

  2. WAR MEMORIALS Ramsgill War memorial is to be fully funded by the new owner of The Yorke Arms. Middlesmoor War Memorial and Ramsgill are to be completed by H A Green of Ripon.

  3. HIGHWAYS Nothing new to report, but it was noted that Sat Navs are sending people the wrong way at Scar Gill Reservoir

  4. PLAYGROUNDS REPORT . P Nethercoat forwarded this months report.

  5. PARISH CARETAKER The Caretaker is to be asked to clean Road Signs and Bensons to trim hedge on Corner. A mirror on the corner of Scarr Row has slipped. This needs tightening

  6. RAMSGILL GREEN Nothing to report

  7. PLANNING APPLICATIONS None

  8. MILLENIUM MARQUEE Nothing to report
