MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON Monday 13th January at Ransgill Village Hall at 7.30pm

  1. PRESENT Cllr R Watson (Chairman), County Cllr S Lumley, Cllr A Challis, Cllr A Sykes, Cllr D Fothergill, Cllr S Ramsden, Cllr M Wells,

  6. COUNCILLORS REPORTS County Councillor S Lumley reported that Kexgill new road is currently in planning. This includes improvements to junctions on roads near Blubberhouses. Budget meetings are taking place for NYCC and Harrogate B.C.for the next financial year. Task group on climate change for NYCCis continuing Currently the county os way below the carbon footprint set by the EU. Harrogate B.C. Have sold Cresent Gardens for £4 million, and are saving approx. £1 million a year with the new offices.

  7. TELEPHONE BOXES Boxes in both Ransgill and Lofthouseare staying with BT however although reported to BT the door of the box at Middlesmoor has been recently removed by BT. We are unsure what is happening with this.

  8. FIRE STATION Both negative comments and positive comments about the fire station, has been received to the parish council. The parish council has agreed to help applicants with travel costs to training.

  9. RIGHTS OF WAY Nothing to report

  10. CCTV . Nothing to report

  11. STREET LIGHTS Middlesmoor is now sorted, but one now out in Lofthouse

  12. RAMSGILL There is a branch currently hanging high above the road, plus the tree has still to be removed

  13. HIGHWAYS There has been reports of a lot of standing water. Cuncil services will soon have more power over this work, as taking the contracted work, back under their control

  14. PLAYGROUNDS REPORT Fencing order has been placed

  15. PARISH CARETAKER No News

  16. PLANNING APPLICATIONS 19/04976/FUL Colthouse Barn The council continued to question access rights

  17. COMMUTED SUMS Nothing to report Council are informing anyone who has rights to commuted sums

From the 1st April, those with septic tanks have a law change, meaning people could be liable to fines

The Police have stated they are willing to security mark items free of charge

Red Kites and other endangered birds, are being shot and poisoned in the area. This is raiding severe concern
