MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON Monday 12th February 2024 at Lofthouse Memorial Hall 7.30pm

  1. PRESENT Cllr S Ramsden, Cllr M Wells , Cllr D. Fothergill, Cllr R Harker, Cllr J Graham, Cllr D Verity, Cllr J Carter, Cllr A Sykes, County Cllr A Murday and Clerk Mr Alan Bean

  4. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

  5. LOFTHOUSE SCHOOL Meeting for Lofthouse school was held on 23rd January. The meeting gave the opinion that it was also sorted for closure. There is a meeting n the 7th of March in Skipton, which the Parish Council has agreed to continue. To fight to get some movement, however this meeting is likely t be more of a rubber stamp of the previous meeting.

  6. MATTERS ARISING Vice Chairman decided to hold back on the letter to landowner, regarding flooding due to water from land onto the road. The Parish Council decided to investigate the issue, if it is the landowner or Highways responsibility or both.

  7. COUNCILLORS REPORTS . County Cllr Murday reported the Long Course weekend , the council gets no profit but there are costs to the council. The Showfield is trying to cancel the permission they have agreed for the event. North Yorkshire Council is currently £6 million in debt. Council tax is going to be going up by 4.99%, the maximum allowed. However some areas are already higher, so those wont see increases at the same level. Cllr D Verity discussed the need for a depth gauge Ramsgill and Bouthwaite bridges

  9. STREET LIGHTS North Yorkshire Council is dealing with the light at the Bridge

  10. VILLAGE ISSUES

  11. PARKING NEAR RESERVOIR None

  12. HIGHWAYS Ripon road has a severe pot hole, which has damaged County Councillor Murdays tyre. Outside Ramsgill Vicarage has 2 pot holes.

  13. PLAYGROUNDS Nothing to report

  14. PARISH CARETAKER nothing to report

  15. PLANNING APPLICATIONS ZC24/00160/FUL Woodside Cottage Heathfield the council supported the application.

  16. COMMUTED SUMS nothing to report

  17. MILLENIUM MARQUEE in storage for the winter.

  18. PINFOLD nothing to report

  21. PRECEPT The council agreed to keep the precept unchanged for the next year as funds are increasing.
