MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON Monday 11th December 2023 at Middlesmoor Village Hall 7.30pm

  1. PRESENT Cllr S. Ramsden Cllr D. Fothergill, Cllr R Harker, Cllr J Graham, Cllr. A Challis, Cllr M Wells, Cllr D Verity, County Cllr A Murday and Clerk Mr Alan Bean, and 1 member of the public

  5. LOFTHOUSE SCHOOL Awaiting next meetings. Nothing new to report

  6. MATTERS ARISING Mast has been rejected but is expected to be looked at again later

  7. COUNCILLORS REPORTS . County Cllr Murday reported road maintenance funding has dropped approximately by a 1/3 nationally. Fountains Earth deadline for submissions is the 22nd December. The executive meeting is on 23rd January. Long course weekend event is due to have around 3000 competitors. Cllr S Ramsden reported the recycling bins at Lofthouse are being abused. The council agreed that potentially adding sgnage to the bins may help to stop this. Council are going to look at arranging sins for this.

  8. FIRE STATION Nothing new to report

  9. STREET LIGHTS Awaiting an inspection a new light has been fitted just near the school but electric hasn’t been connected.

  10. VILLAGE ISSUES nothing to report

  11. PARKING NEAR RESERVOIR None

  12. HIGHWAYS Pipes are still being blocked on drains.

  15. PLANNING APPLICATIONS

ZC23/04058/FUL Corn Close Farm The council supports the plan but wishes to point out pedestrian access with a footpath for safe access to the site may be needed. The council alos pointed out that the application plans showed a bridge which is not part of the application. Yet the bridge isn’t shown on the prior to application plans. The council believes no planning has been confirmed for such a bridge.

  6. PRECEPT The council agreed to keep the precept unchanged for the next year as funds are increasing.
