MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON Monday 12th August 2019 at Lofthouse Village Hall at 7.30pm

  1. PRESENT Cllr R Watson (Chairman), Cllr S Ramsden, Cllr D Fothergill, Cllr J Graham, Cllr A Sykes,

  2. APOLOGIES County Cllr S Lumley, Cllr B Harrison, Cllr A Challis, Cllr J Carter

  3. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST Cllr S Ramsden regarding planning application As per council policy, Cllr S Ramsden was not involved in discussion and vote on application

  4. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING Proposed Cllr D Fothergill, seconded Cllr A Sykes

  5. NEW COUNCILLOR Mr Mike Wells was welcomed to the council.

  6. MATTERS ARISING None

  7. COUNCILLORS REPORTS No reports were given as County councillor not present and no items which are not covered in other areas, from Parish Councillors

  8. FIRE STATION Some people have passed medicals, others are being given second chances to pass

  9. RIGHTS OF WAY North Yrkshire have asked fror additional paperwork to be completed, which now has and is in the post

  10. CCTV . Nothing to report

  11. STREET LIGHTS Lofthouse Lights issue, with regard to power supply being through old post office, North Yprkshire have had a quote to sort this issue. At moment they are questioning if it should be Harrogate Borough Council to deal with this. County Councillor Mr S Lumley is going to be contacted to try to sort this between the two councils

  12. RAMSGILL A Cherry tree fell into the graveyard, and was quickly removed. A copper beech tree fell and cut BT lines. There has been delayed on being removed. The council is aware.

  13. HIGHWAYS Highways has dramatically increased during this summer. At the bend in Ramsgill, there is an issue. The road is being narrowed from Ramsgill to Grewelthorpe.

  14. PLAYGROUNDS REPORT No one present to give reports

  15. PARISH CARETAKER No further news

  16. PLANNING APPLICATIONS

    19/03174/DVCON Linley Farm. Council approves

  17. CYCLING EVENT Race goes through the area 28th Spetember, in Lofthouse around 1pm

  18. COMMUTED SUMS ongoing

  19. MILLENIUM MARQUEE The Marquee was damaged due to wind ripping the fabric. It was agreed to have the Marquee repaired by the only specialist in the area, at Bradford. It is due out this coming week. It was also discussed a replacement Marquee could be possible, using existing funds. The Chair suggested a metal frame marquee. It was suggested and agreed that the chair and atleast one other member should see one of these marquees in place, and how strong they are.

  23. OTHER BUSINESS Telephone Box at Middlesmoor has been damaged. It was agreed to look deeper into adopting. A bench at Middlesmoor was damaged. Vice Chair, Cllr S Ramsden repaired this.
