MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON Monday 10TH November at Lofthouse Memorial Hall at 7.30pm

  1. PRESENT Cllr R Harker, Cllr S. Ramsden, Cllr M Wells, Cllr D. Fothergill, Cllr D Verity, Cllr J Graham, County Cllr A Murday and Clerk Mr Alan Bean

  6. COUNCILLORS REPORTS Cllr Murday explained a new recycling bin is being trialed, over 700 properties, replacing the bag for a paper with a bin. The Wath bridge repair is now scheduled for 1st December taking an estimated 12 days. Signage for footpaths for “rights of way” the officer responsible is looking into options to repair/replace some. The Band room is looking to be soldThe trustees are looking at the proceeds going to music options within the area.

  7. LOFTHOUSE SCHOOL Nothing new to report

  8. FIRE STATION Still needing recruits

  9. STREET LIGHTS No6 at Middlesmoor is still waiting on the repair. North Yorkshire Council are aware.

  10. VILLAGE ISSUES Cllr S Ramsden has managed to locate bulbs for the local area, and is now looking on who is volunteering to help plant them. Lofthouse Village Hall is having a floor repaired. Middlesmoor Village Hall has asked for financial assistance due to increased costs for Insurance. The council discussed this at length, and felt a one off payment to all 3 village halls maybe helpful. This to help with Insurance costs. It was agreed for £300 to be sent to each. The park bench that was being discussed for repair and possible use of commuted sums to help towards costs, when examined, is not repairable.

  11. PARKING NEAR RESERVOIR None

  12. HIGHWAYS It was mentioned that although potholes have been repaired recently, they have been of a poor standard, and are already showing signs of this.

  13. PLAYGROUNDS . Nothing to report

  14. PARISH CARETAKER Nothing to report

  15. PRECEPT It was decided to wait until the next meeting. Response must be in by end of year.
