MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON Monday 14th April at Ramsgill Village Hall 7.30pm

  1. PRESENT Cllr S. Ramsden, Cllr D. Fothergill, Cllr A Sykes, Cllr D Verity , Cllr J Carter, Cllr M Wells, Clerk Mr Alan Bean and members of the Public

  3. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING Proposed Cllr D. Fothergill Seconded Cllr D Verity

  4. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

  5. MATTERS ARISING Notice board at Lofthouse needs a new frame and possible lock as well as Heathfield and Middlesmoor needing work. Cllr D Fothergill is going to price up potential costs

  6. COUNCILLORS REPORTS none

  7. LOFTHOUSE SCHOOL No news as of yet

  8. VE DAY Rosie is arranging the event, with backing from the parish council. It was agreed that a bonfire and picnic type set up, with barbecue facilities available, if people bring their own food. This is to be run on Sunday evening so those working have a chance to attend. It was pointed out that it is lambing time. In the vent of bad weather, the event will move to the Bank holiday Monday evening. It was also agreed for medals to be used as gifts to the children. This is to be held at the quarry at Middlesmoor

  9. FIRE STATION Still needing more people to volunteer

  10. STREET LIGHTS .A letter was received for a payment for a replacement light, however it was sent to the parish cuncil in error as it is the county council that deals with street lights, not parish councils. The concrete street light has been asked to be removed, as the replacement has been in place for a long time now.

  11. VILLAGE ISSUES Cllr S Ramsden produced dog mess signs. These have been sent to place around the community to remind people to deal with dog mess appropriately. The annual litter pick has been arranged and the youth club, Secret agents, are set to help out

  12. PARKING NEAR RESERVOIR None

  13. HIGHWAYS The bridge at Wath is still being damaged by vehicles. The stones of the bride are being pushed utwards, making the bridge dangerous.

  14. PLAYGROUNDS nothing to report

  15. PARISH CARETAKER nothing to report

  16. PLANNING APPLICATIONS none

  17. COMMUTED SUMS The criket club are claiming some funds but there is a large amount of funds available for other organisations, they haven’t yet claimed.

  18. MILLENIUM MARQUEE There are some wooden items needed, used to tighten the ropes. Cllr D Fothergill is looking at arranging some, or potential fabricating some.
