In the past many items for funding have been controlled by central government. Speaking as County Councillor, 3000 NYCC staff now work from home, due to the pandemic. The Children’s services have been rated Outstanding, meaning NYCC is the first area in the country to get that level. NYCC is aiming to get 97% of the community to have access to broadband in the coming year. The last 3% will be the hardest to connect, due to their locations. Speaking as District Councillor for HBC, he stated the new Civic Centre is now saving the community £1 million a year. Ripon is due its new swimming pool to open in the next year A new hostel is due to open in Starbeck. The council has 20 new social houses built, and 20 it has purchased in the last year. As both NYCC and HBC wont exist by May 2022, there are some massive changes coming to the area, which should be beneficial to the community. It will be unsure how these will happen until the decision on what is happening, is confirmed during the next month.

MILLENIUM MARQUEE REPORT Cllr D Fothergill gave his report. He stated the marquee has reached a point where its condition is not suitable for most events.
