  7. LOFTHOUSE SCHOOL Because the offer from the Parish Council isn’t a cash offer, it was refused. No other offer was made. The County Council are now offering the property for retail sale with estimate of sale around £195,000. No mention of the possible issue of the Lazenby Trust is being mentioned by the estate agents. Anne Sowerby has evidence that parts of the property is still under the Lazenby trust, and no members of the trust was contacted when the county council tried to take over the property a few years ago. They merely contacted the Church Diocese, who have nothing to do with the trust. The Parish Council, along with members of the Lazenby Trust, are considering applying for Adverse Possession, or possession of the land. This would then make sure it had to be mentioned at any sale or search run by agents for a potential buyer. It was agreed, the chair would speak to members of the trust to apply for adverse possession. Discussions were are made about confirming valuations of village hall and equity options.
