Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting MAY 2024 was approved JUNE 2024
PARISH CHAIR REPORT
The school house at Lofthouse as been a major issue this year. With the county council trying to sell it, and the parish council working with Lofthouse Memorial Hall committee, working at taking the school house to replace the current village hall. This is an ongoing task which the Parish council is working hard to help this become a reality. As trustees of both Lofthouse and Middlesmoor village halls, the parish council will continue to work with the community to help the village halls. The chair wished to thank all that have attended meetings over the past 12 months, including but not exclusive to members of the village hall committees, Members of the community and County and Parish councillors.
COUNTY COUNCILLOR REPORT
County Councillor A Murday reported that the county council is introducing bin collections 4 days a week. About every 2 weeks is supposed to be in place throughout the county. The council is under immense financial difficulties. Kex Gill costs are increasing. Home school transport causing issues that weren’t expected, which is thought to be lack of information clearly on the website for people to apply. Issues on catchment areas and the funding budget has decreased. The new Boundary commission has published its consultation.
MILLENIUM MARQUEE REPORT Cllr D Fothergill reported that the Marquee went out twice, however needed repairing after 3 times it collapsed this year due to severe winds
