MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
HELD ON Monday 11th May at Lofthouse Memorial Hall at 7.30pm

Chaired By Cllr S Ramsden

  1. PRESENT Cllr S. Ramsden Cllr D. Fothergill, Cllr D Verity, Cllr R Harker, Cllr J Carter, Cllr M Wells, County Cllr A Murday and Clerk Mr Alan Bean plus members of Upper Nidderdale Heritage

  3. MINUTES OF LAST MEETING Proposed Cllr R Harker Seconded Cllr J. Carter

  4. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST to be stated if anything comes up during the meeting

  5. MATTERS ARISING Low Sykes bank footpath is being looked into by the council

  6. COUNCILLORS REPORTS The Situation with Stean Bin Storage is being looked into. At the moment CCTV for Pateley bridge is being debated along the High street. The parish council discussed if there should be something similar for Upper Nidderdale. Issues about location and practicality were discussed, but at this moment it was decided this is something for a later date. Cllr J Carter brought up about the footpath on the Nidderdale Way, and how the land at Gouthwaite had become a quagmire.

  7. LOFTHOUSE SCHOOL Nothing new to report

  8. FIRE STATION Is in need of volunteers to keep it in the community

  9. STREET LIGHTS No 6 at Middlesmoor is still waiting on being replaced.

  10. VILLAGE ISSUES Nothing to report

  11. PARKING NEAR RESERVOIR None

  12. HIGHWAYS the gorse at Trapping Hill needs trimming. It was agreed it needed doing for safety reasons. It was reported a telegraph pole maybe being fitted between Middlesmoor and Lofthouse. Cllr S Ramsden and Cllr D Fothergill are going to investigate this. Litter pick has been done recently.

  13. PLAYGROUNDS . Nothing to report

  14. PARISH CARETAKER It was agreed that grass cutting is needing to eb doen, but also agreed this should be after the Daffodils have gone.

  15. PLANNING APPLICATIONS 26/01646/DVCON High Barn of Grange Lane The council had no objection to the plan

  16. COMMUTED SUMS Nothing to report

  17. MILLENIUM MARQUEE Nothing to report

  18. PINFOLD Middlesmoor Pinfold is yet to be registered.

  19. WEBSITE Nothing to report

  20. CORRESPONDENCE n/a

  21. AGAR EXEMPTION It was agreed by all members of the Parish Council that the parish council is exempt from a limited assurance review and the clerk should email the exemption certificate to PFK Littlejohn

  22. ACCOUNTS After the review last month, statements are now being sent direct to the Chairman only.
